Dennis Gonzalez (1954-2022) was an American trumpeter, composer, visual artist, poet, broadcaster, and educator. Based in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas, beginning in the late '70s he was at the center of an avant-garde jazz and improvisation scene. He performed and recorded with some of the leading musicians in the music, from America and Europe. In 1999, Dennis formed the trio Yells At Eels with his children Aaron and Stefan. The group played in DIY punk spaces as well as clubs, concert halls, and museums. The image comes from a performance at the Wreck Room in Fort Worth, Texas.
